On The Road Again......

It was a long road getting here, but it is worth it.  I have had this bike for over two years, and I finally got it back together again.  Surprisingly, it is running rather well.  I guess my experience with the '81 model I had paid off.  Now to get some decent mileage on it before winter.  I have 60 miles on it now, since the rebuild, and want to have at least 500 on it before I park it for the winter.

Green Means Go...Right?

Actually...just checking electricals here.  The neutral light lit up, when I connected everything, and started checking out what was or was not working.  Everything looked good, but I did end up having to replace the stock fuse panel.

"New" Air Filters....

Ok..not exactly new.  I used a foam filter from a Briggs & Stratton filter to recover my stock air filter cage.  Using hot melt glue, I joined the foam together.  They look good, and more importantly, work well.  A lot cheaper than after market replacements.

New Brushes...But Same Old Rotor.....

Keeping my fingers crossed that the original stock rotor will hold up for awhile.  At least, please make it through what is left of this riding season.

New Front Sprocket Installed.....AND..New O-RING Chain....

Changed to 17/32 gearing.

Rear Brake Caliper Done....

As with the front, I used stainless steel brake lines, and removed the paint from the caliper.

Front Brake Caliper Installed...

While rebuilding the front brake caliper, I removed the paint from it.  I liked the look so much, that I decided to leave it that way.  I like how the silver color contrasts with the black.  Also rebuild the master cylinder, and used new stainless steel brake lines.  Oh, and Vesrah sintered pads.
